Today is Jon's birthday!! Which also means... that we got engaged exactly one year ago today!! :-)
On this day last year, we got engaged and I received my beautiful engagement ring that Jon purchased from Jared. And just in case you haven't seen it yet, here is a picture of my engagement ring:
Since it has been a year since I received my ring & we have less than 5 months until the wedding, we decided today [Jon's Birthday] would be a great day to go look for our wedding bands!
No, we did not look like that when we went to look at wedding bands, we are definitely a more 'jeans & t-shirt/dress shirt' couple. When we walked into Jared the first thing we did was pick up my engagement ring that I had to leave the day before to have it cleaned/examined/repaired. Next, we were escorted over to the case that held the wedding bands. Once I had shown the girl my ring, and explained to her that I wanted a band to match/fit my engagement ring, she pulled out 3 different bands that she said we could try. They were all gorgeous, but didn't seem to "fit" the way I had wanted. After having another sales associate take a closer look at my ring, he came up with 2 new bands that he thought would work better.
After going back and forth between the two bands I finally made my decision...

(The ring looks a little funny with my engagement ring because it is super big!)
The pictures aren't very good, but it was the best I could get with my phone. So here is a picture of the ring from Jared's website:
Next up was Jon. He didn't seem near as excited as I was. (Jon never wear jewelry, ever!) ..oh wait, he does wear a watch! But other than that, nothing. So he was kind of whatever about the whole thing. After explaining to the sales associate that Jon does a lot of physical work and needed something extremely sturdy. After looking at 3 or 4 rings, Jon chose this one:

It is a little small on his finger, but you get the idea. His ring is made of Tungsten, which is unbelievably sturdy and should last a long time. :)
What was your ring shopping experience like? Did you or your partner have any trouble deciding between two (or more) rings?
